ABOUT ME
Shannon Pereira
BNurs, GradCert Child & Adolescent Health, MClinAud, MNP
Hi, I’m Shannon, the founder of Perth Ear Health. I’m an endorsed Nurse Practitioner and Audiologist with 18 years of combined clinical experience across nursing and audiology, providing evidence-based, family-centred care. My approach is medical, holistic, and focused on clear assessment, education, and practical support for patients and families.
I began my career as a registered nurse, working across public and private healthcare. Early on, I spent several years in paediatrics at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children in Perth and The Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne, gaining experience across plastics, orthopaedics, respiratory, adolescent health, and perioperative care. Those years shaped the way I work today, thorough assessment, calm communication, and practical support for families navigating complex decisions.

Over time, my work shifted increasingly into ENT through specialised clinics and surgery, including cochlear implantation, sinus procedures, and complex ear and airway cases. This was pivotal in developing my passion for otology and led to the completion of a Master of Clinical Audiology at UWA, expanding my expertise in hearing and balance disorders and strengthening my ability to translate diagnostic results into meaningful, real-world outcomes.
Today, through Perth Ear Health, I provide comprehensive ear and hearing care for children and adults. Services include advanced diagnostic assessment, paediatric audiology, tinnitus management, vestibular assessment, and electrophysiology. With dual qualifications in nursing and audiology, I integrate medical and audiological expertise and coordinate referral pathways when specialist or surgical input is required.
Audiology is also deeply personal in our family. Both of my children, Harry and Emmi, were born with hearing loss. This experience reinforces a commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care, practical guidance, and continuity of follow-up, supporting families with timely access to the right care.
